do not crop the picture. Before folding, trim the excess margins
off to the edge of the coloured image. This is to keep the

The Ultimate Maths Fieldtrip!
Bring your class to The Great Origami Maths and Science Show
- unfolding across New Zealand in August 2006! In this entertaining
live show, origami master Jonathan Baxter and mathS educator
Hugh Gribben reveal just how much maths and science is tucked
away in the creases of an origami model.
Supported by a grant from the Royal Society of New Zealand,
they explore the laws of origami, origami in nature, problem
solving using the power of origami, and the application of
intricate folding techniques to industrial design and engineering.
Suitable for classes Year 9 and above, the one-hour show
is accompanied by a unique resource - a companion manual relevant
to the NZ curriculum that includes step-by-step instructions
on making the models and additional classroom resources.
