This page has been created to hold notices and comments on some of the issues that develop as the conference organisation proceeds. Please come back and check it occasionally.

 

Notes (15th July)

  • The committee would like to thank Kilbaha Multimedia Publishing for the door prize they donated to the conference. It was a class set of Holy Grail  math booklets.

Notes (13th July)

  • The conference is now over. We plan to keep the website live until the end of the year. Delegates may access resources till then. As resources arrive they will be placed aon the website and linked from the home page and from the workshop entry in the programme pages. All resources will be added as a zip file to faciliate downloading.

 

Notes (7th July)

  • The daily notices will be added to the website. Find them as pdf linked to on the right of the home page. A daily gallery of photographs will be added there at the end of each day.

 

Notes (6th July)

  • Delegate list updated.
  • Due to family reasons workshop 7.05 Froday morning is now cancelled.
  • Workshop 1.07 has been changed from 24 to room 28
  • Workshop 2.08 is now moved to workshop 7.15 in room 34

 

Notes (5th July)

  • New workshop announced.
    Workshop 5.16 (Thursday 2:45pm in Room 30).
    Title: Raising Maori Students' Achievement in Maths. Presenter : Una Byrne - Greymouth High School. The Greymouth High School Maths Department and the Te Kauhua Project would like to share their experiences with interested schools and teachers on how to raise Maori students' achievement in maths.A page containing details of this project can be found at the other end of this link.

  

 

Notes (3rd July)

  • A list of registered  motels accommodating conference delegates has been started at the bottom of the transport page. Please make sure your motel is on it. If it is not send your information to sixhats.
  • When you arrive at St Paul's Collegiate please register first.  The Registration Desk will be open in the Foyer of the Student Centre from 10.30am.
  • Committee page added. This contains a gallery of photographs of the committee members. Recognise us and please ask for assistance if required.
  • Powhiri page added. This contains an outline of the Powhiri. It will enable delegates to familiarise themselves with the procedures and protocols involved.

Notes (1st July)

  • Mike Camden, the presenter of workshop 3.05, has sent us files of some documents being used in that workshop. Delegates are invited to download these and familiarise themselves with their contents before attending the workshop.
  • Other presenters are very welcome to do the same. This caters for those people who would have liked to have gone to your workshop but couldn't make it. It also caters for those who went to your workshop but may have missed out on handouts.
  • Programme Change. Dr Stephen Arnold and workshop 6.13 have been swapped with  Gill Robinson and workshop 3.09. The programme pages have been corrected.
  • Substantial changes have been made to the transport pages. There are now two bus routes instead of one.

 

Notes (26th June)

  • Delegates are reminded that vests and sweatshirts are available for purchase. Click on "vests" in the menu at left for further details. When sufficient orders have been received a  purchase will be made from the manufacturer. The vests and sweatshirts are not available off the shelf.

 

Notes (25th June)

  • An updated list of delegates has been added to the delegates page. Over a hundred new names are there now.
  • The conference programme and handbook has been completed. A PDF of this is available from this site. Delegates will be getting a paper copy of this when they arrive but if you want a preview then download it and have a look.
  • The Census at Schools project is running workshops 4:18 and 7:13. For a copy of their brief information flyer  click here or visit their website at www.censusatschool.org.nz.
  • An extra page has been added to the main menu titled "Transport". Here you can find details of the transport arrnged  to the venues and back again for those staying in town.

 

Notes (23rd June)

  • The University of Auckland Department of Engineering Science has had their page updated in the trade displays section.
  • A link to a photograph of the organising committte has been inserted on the organisation page.
  • Final date for registrations has now been eliminated. People may register up until the last minute if they wish.
  • All workshop programmes have been updated and are now finalised. The workshop pages from the programme book are available for download from the link on the programme page.

 

Notes (18th June)

  • Delegates are asked to congregate on the car park at 1:15pm in readiness for the Powhiri.

 

Notes (11th June)

  • The committee are pleased to announce that Kay Stacey, one of our Plenary speakers,  will now be here for the entire conference.
  • The pages for workshop programmes have been redone incorporating many changes and new workshops.
  • Additional sponsors are being sought for satchel items. For only $100 you may put advertising and products of your choice into each of the conference satchels. Please contact sponsors@nzamt8.ac.nz

 

 

 Note (2nd June)

  • A site map has been added to the venue page. A number of pages spelling out details of the workshops programme has been added to the programme page. A few corrections have been made to the programme and more information about some of the trade displays has been added. The list of workshop presenters has been updated.

 

Notes (30th May)  

  • The conference organisation does not deal with accommodation. If you haven't heard from St. Pauls then you are probably not booked in and will need to make some other arrangements.
  • Everyone must register for at least one day. There are no shared registrations. The secretariat, for example, will not issue one registration to cover three separate people for the three days at one day each.
  • Trade displays are now fully booked. Any exhibitor still wishing for a trade display may get in touch with the organising committee and ask to be placed on a waiting list pending cancellations if any.
  • Early Bird registrations have now closed. All registrations must be accompanied by the full fee.
